The Awakening

Well for starters, TGIF ! I'm so excited that the weekend is here ! This weekend is particularly exciting for me not only because it's the end of the workweek (sort of) but also because I'm officially returning to the stage. As of lately I've been doing my fair share of activities via commercials, short films, features, etc. But I've actually been eyeing a particular production called "The Fashion Opera" for over two years now. The Fashion Opera is a multifaceted design house created by Antonio Wingfield and produced with Darnelle Sanders. They travel the county providing their interpretation of culture, creativity, and visual fashion aesthetics unlike any other design house. They also have a stage play called "The Fashion Opera". I remember seeing TFO for first time a while back and being convicted by the truth, talent, and beauty that was displayed before my very eyes. The vision of Antonio and Darnelle was indeed an Awakening for me and an experience to never be forgotten. Ever seen that moment of wanted to be apart of these production and a audition and 2 callbacks later, I'm proud to share this experience with you . I hope that this August 28th,2016 that you will join the 2016 cast of The Awakening for our very first show of the fall season at the Fort Worth Convention center. Tickets can be purchased online at here . If you would like to see the official event page on Facebook please click here. You can also "like" the Fashion Opera's fan page here. For the most up to date information on touring dates coming to a city near you.

For more on the The Fashion Opera please read the excerpt below:

Outraged over the lyrics of a massively popular rap song, legendary diva, Vanity Black, turns to her longtime friend for a venting session. Upon her visit, the notorious diva is presented with an opportunity where she is ultimately swept away on a whimsical journey leaping worlds, time periods and into a land called The City of Chaos. In a clash between cultures, belief systems, and economic classes, this troubled community is tangled in a web of violence, self hate, colorism, female degradation, and classism . Accompanied by a mysterious friend named Karma, Vanity Black finds herself in the role of a leader to discover a new vision for her people. However, as she begins to question old ways and beliefs of the community, she finds that her vision is not welcomed with open arms, especially by its king. Will a troubled people awaken to a new vision, new words, and new ways of thinking, or will they continue to create their own hell on earth.

To say I'm excited would be an understatement ! In my quest in the entertainment industry it's always been of the upmost importance to take on roles that are impactful and meaningful . I know sometimes in the quest of achievement and success it's easy to neglect that important aspect of a career.
